Mixers

A mixer is a simple and straightforward way of controlling the levels of a number of microphone/music sources at once.

There are two types of mixers, powered and non-powered (Active/Passive):-

Powered mixer – this has a built-in amplifier and requires no additional amplification.

Non-powered – this requires a separate amplification/power source.

Whichever type you choose will depend on what the mixer is to be used for. Mixers are used in many different ways eg.

  • Music group – for plugging in instruments and microphones
  • Night Club/Bar D.J.
  • Additional inputs to your current system
  • Portable/Permanent installation
  • Vocal/Musical effects
